North West applauds public servants for sound implementation of Setsokotsane programme

Public servants applauded for sound implementation of Setsokotsane in Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District

The successful implementation of service delivery driven Setsokotsane programme in Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District is a profound affirmation of the Province’s radical pursuit of the National Development Plan goals. This was said today, Tuesday 28 July 2015, by Premier of Bokone Bophirima Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo while addressing more than three thousands government employees from Departments and Municipalities within Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality.

Held at Bloemhof in Lekwa-Teemane Local Municipality, the purpose of the meeting was to reflect on the implementation of Setsokotsane programme which lasted for the past two months in this District.

Reiterating the Province’s quest for improved and sustainable livelihoods, Premier Mahumapelo urged government employees to embrace Setsokotsane as a necessary action oriented approach that brings all service delivery spheres together, this in pursuit of a prosperous society.

“We have a responsibility to unambiguously implement the objectives of the National Development Plan according to our environment and circumstances, and Setsokotsane has so far been acclaimed as one of the most progressive approach to achieving this task,” said Premier Mahumapelo.

Premier Mahumapelo encouraged government employees to objectively appreciate the reality that by implementing the principles of Setsokotsane, they are shaping and making a history from which positive things will be derived and enjoyed by the future generation. Moreover, Mahumapelo said Setsokotsane must be viewed as an integral approach to realising the vision to rebrand, reposition and renew the Province of Bokone Bophirima.

“As we will be implementing Setsokotsane in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District for the next two months, we move with the necessary drive and stimulation to change people’s lives, drawing from the experience and lessons learnt from Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District. The leadership of this Province is grateful for your dedication and demonstrated will to make a difference in the lives of the people of Bokone Bophirima,” said Premier Mahumapelo who also expressed the leadership’s expectation that the District will continue to deliver services in the context of Setsokotsane.

In line with the already adopted approach to implementing Setsokotsane this financial year, the focus will be on one District for two months, during which period each local municipality will be targeted for Setsokotsane service delivery activities.

The focus from August to September will be Dr Kenneth Kaunda District, followed by Ngaka Modiri Molema District in October and November, before heading to Bojanala Platinum District.
