Several days ago, members from the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) embarked on an operation in several provinces. Dubbed Operation Hydro, this resulted in the arrest of two foreign nationals in Johannesburg and the recovery of two suspected stolen cars on Sunday.
On Monday, three more foreign nationals were arrested in Bloemfontein, and one car was recovered. In Kimberly on Tuesday, four South Africans were arrested, and two cars recovered. Police also discovered cash, three hundred ecstasy tablets as well as tik.
The operations follow months of gathering intelligence about illegal activities involving suspected criminals from mostly Nigeria and South Africa. The operation continues today (Wednesday).
