News on the arrest of Bafana aka Bafana Ntuli!

Bafana Ntuli is expected to appear at the Albaton Magistrates court tomorrow (27 November 2009, following his arrest by the police yesterday 25 November 2009 morning. He became known to the public through a joint expose by Sowetan and e.tv's 3rd Degree in July 2009.

"I am pleased that the suspect has been arrested. We can only hope that more people who were defrauded by this Bafana will come forward to make statements with the police in order to strengthen the case against him. The more people come forward, the better would be the chances for him to go a long time to prison" said MEC Kgaogelo Lekgoro.

"We want to applaud the police for arresting this suspect who seemed to be eluding the long arm of the law. They finally court up to him and we hope all the people who were defrauded will heed our call and speak to the police" said MEC Lekgoro.

"We would like to caution the "would be" RDP scammers and fraudsters that they too will be uncovered and brought to book. In the past we have arrested people who for one reason or the other think that they can defraud the state and sell RDP houses meant for the poor" said MEC Lekgoro.

Those people who might have been defrauded and would want to volunteer more information about the activities of Bafana may contact Inspector Mahlangu of the Germiston Commercial Crimes Unit on 011 871 5000 or 011 871 5306 or 083 429 1255.
