The newly appointed MEC for Health in Gauteng Mr Hope Papo started his official duties in the department today by attending a certification ceremony to thank forensic pathology services employees for their sterling work during the Meyerton bus disaster.
The forensic pathology services secured the disaster scene, avoiding delays in the recovery of bodies and completed autopsies in record time.The MEC will spend this week meeting management and familiarising himself with the department’s programme of action and deciding on priorities for his term in office. He will engage with the media to outline his plans next week after he has studied the hand over reports and met with staff members.
