New Inspector-General for Intelligence sworn in

Advocate Faith Doreen Radebe was today, Wednesday, 7 April 2010, sworn in as the country's new Inspector-General for Intelligence.

The official swearing in ceremony was conducted by the Cape Judge President, John Hlophe in Parliament, during a special sitting of the Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence.

Advocate Radebe will be responsible for oversight of the country's civilian intelligence services, ensuring that the work of the services falls within the constitutional framework of the country.

Upon taking the oath of office, Advocate Radebe committed herself to working with Parliament and the Ministry of State Security in adding value to the work of securing the nation against any form of threats.
