Smith replaces Herbert Mkhize and will be starting in his new office on October 3.

Mkhize leaves office on September 30 after serving the institution- deemed around the world as the paragon of social dialogue for over eight years.

During his tenure, Mkhize has hosted many prominent figures that include Pascal.

Smith has a Masters Degree in Philosophy in Development Studies from the University of Sussex.
