The marking of the National Senior Certificate (matric) scripts has been completed. All the 35 000 markers in 118 marking centres concluded the process as scheduled on 15 December.
Data capturing commenced immediately afterwards and that process has also been completed.
The exams scripts belong to the 576 90 full-time and 130 646 part-time candidates who sat for the 2013 examinations in 6699 exam centres.
The quality assurance of the NSC examinations will then commence and will be undertaken by Umalusi upon receiving the data from the DBE.
There will be a new statement of results for the November 2013 NSC exams. It has special security features including the RSA Watermark and a unique serial number.
The Minister of Basic Education will release the 2013 NSC examination results on 6 January 2014. The results will be available at schools, in print and online media the following day on 7 January 2014.
