The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) received the Special Investigation Unit report on the alleged corruption and fraud at the Department of Correctional Services relating to the Bosasa group on 30 September 2009.
The information contained in the report has been forwarded to the Serious Economic Offences Unit of the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation. When the police investigation is finalised, they will submit the case docket to the NPA for a decision whether to prosecute or not.
Any further enquiries regarding the progress on investigations relating to this matter should be referred to the police.
