Presentation skills transfer on consumer education is currently on top of the list of the two-day Housing Consumer Workshop that started at Orion Hotel, in Rustenburg, North West Province on Thursday morning.
Municipal officials and CDWs from four local municipalities from around the Bojanala District were trained on how to present and respond to questions and queries raised by housing consumers and communities, while they present as part of the housing consumer education campaign.
After this workshop, the trained officials and CDW's are expected to execute their duties of organising housing consumer education campaigns within their respective municipalities.
Organised by the North West Department of Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison, in partnership with the National Department of Human Settlements, the campaign will end on Saturday, 23 September 2011, with an outreach programme to educate housing consumers of their rights, responsibilities in housing including after care and other housing related matters.
The community outreach programme will be held at Seolong village in the Moses Kotane Local Municipality.
The housing consumer education campaign prepares beneficiaries to make informed choices and manage their roles and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
