Provincial Treasury expands service offering in Siyabuswa office

Mbombela, 1 October 2022 - The Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury has expanded its service offering in the Siyabuswa satellite office to include the closing and opening of bids.

This follows the outcry of the business community during the Executive Council Outreach and Premier’s Imbizo which was held in the Dr JS Moroka local municipality from 13 – 16 August for such service to be extended to their area.

The introduction of this function in the Siyabuswa office makes it the third such Centre to offer full tender administration service in the Nkangala District Municipality.

The public opening of the tender box is one of the principal mechanisms that advance the constitutional principles of fairness, transparency, and competitiveness in the procurement process.

During the tender opening, the names of companies that tendered, tender prices, and other details in the bids for goods and services are read out in the presence of bidders and other interested stakeholders.

The MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Vusi Mkhatshwa said this service will further enhance the credibility and confidence in the tendering processes.

“The provincial government continues to improve efficiencies in the procurement system, and the expansion of these services will help us to build momentum on all supply chain management reforms”, said MEC Mkhatshwa.

Other services offered by the Siyabuswa office include registration and support on Central Supplier Database, and Provincial Supplier Invoice Payment Portal.
