Mpumalanga Traditional Affairs on inauguration of Ikosi Bongani Reuben Mahlangu of Ndundza-Somphalali Traditional Council in Kwaggafontein

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) in Mpumalanga officially inaugurated Ikosi Bongani Reuben Mahlangu of Ndundza-Somphalali Traditional Council  in Kwaggafontein. The function was attended by King Mabhoko III, Chairperson of the Mpumalanga House of Traditional Leaders, Kgoshi Mathupha Mokoena, Traditional Leaders and the local community.

In his message of support, Mokoena committed the provincial house and the institution of Traditional Leadership to support the newly-inaugurated traditional leader. He appealed to the local community to cooperate and support him. He cautioned the community members of the royal family not to contest the leadership of Ikosi Mahlangu.

The inauguration of Ikosi Mahlangu is in line with the provincial government’s commitment to restore the dignity of traditional leaders in Mpumalanga.

A local councillor for Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, Cllr Nkulumo Mufume committed the municipality’s support for Ikosi Mahlangu in the acceleration of service delivery.
