The Justice and Constitutional Development Minister, Jeff Radebe, has in terms of section 175(2) of the Constitution appointed Advocate Mokotedi Mpshe, the former acting national Director of Public Prosecutions, as an acting Judge of the North West high court, Mafikeng.
His appointment will cover the period 1 February 2010 to 31 July 2010. As the Cabinet member responsible for the administration of justice, Minister Radebe after consultation with acting Judge President Monica Leeuw, decided to appoint Advocate Mpshe in order to enhance capacity in the judiciary to attend to case backlogs in that region.
We trust that Advocate Mpshe will find his acting appointment as an opportunity to grow in his career and will continue to serve his country albeit in a different capacity for the duration of his appointment.
