Members of the Hawks in Gauteng are appealing to victims of fraud escalating to millions of rands allegedly committed by the owners of the Parkman Car Sales that was operating in Market Street, Krugersdorp, to come forward in order that investigations may be finalised. The victims might be in the areas of West Rand and Pretoria and some cannot be traced on their last known addresses. A special session to obtain the statements will be held in December.
It is alleged that the victims who wanted to sell their vehicles will be ordered to park their vehicles at the dealer’s premises. The vehicles will then be sold on their behalf and dealers will then take the money for themselves and never pay the owners of the vehicles. Some of the vehicles were sold to several clients before being registered into the last person’s name. The case was registered in Krugersdorp during September 2013 but the fraudulent deals may date back to several months earlier.
Victims of this scam may contact the Commercial Crime Investigation Unit in Johannesburg. The Investigating officer is Captain Jan Judeel with cell phone no 082 319 9444 or office no 011 870 5338 at all hours.
