More houses for villages in Moses Kotane

Three hundred more families in Moses Kotane local municipality will benefit from the Comprehensive Rural Development project which was launched in December by North West Premier, Maureen Modiselle and the Minister for Land Reform and Rural Development, Ghugile Nkwinti at Mokgalanweng village in the Moses Kotane local municipality

In partnership with the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development, more low cost houses will be built in the area. MEC Mohono, who was impressed by the progress made in the construction of houses in the area during her recent visit, said the project had changed the lives of ordinary people for the better especially because most of the beneficiaries are poor and elderly people.

Mohono called on the contractors to ensure that they build quality houses for the beneficiaries.

“The department will strive to deliver quality houses where they are mostly needed,” said Mohono.

She said she would personally continue to monitor progress made in all housing projects in the province.

Meanwhile, MEC Mohono called on beneficiaries she visited to help monitor the quality of houses built and assist in the construction of their houses. She says in that case beneficiaries will pride themselves to have taken part in the legacy left for them by their government.

Appreciating the efforts taken by government the Mabote family in the Matlametlong village expressed its gratitude for government’s efforts.

“We are extremely delighted to get a roof over our head. Things are indeed changing for the better”, said the elated 68 years old Medupe Mabote, who currently lives in a three roomed shack with his wife and three children.
