29 June to 2 July: Eastern Cape
The Moral Regeneration Movement Youth Leadership Conference themed "Respect and Integrity" was hosted by the Nelson Mandela Bay Council Speaker in partnership with the Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage District Departments of Education and Social Development. The conference was attended by +-70 learners from twelve schools together with ILO educators. Some of the activities included a mock scene of 'world without values' followed by discussions and group work around this. The conference ended with an award ceremony.
8 July 2009: Free State province
A presentation to the Provincial Executive Council to be given by the Chairperson of MRM, Fr S Mkhatshwa and the CEO Mrs Z Mdhladhla.
10 July 2009: Limpopo province
A briefing with Amakhosi will be held in the morning, followed by the distributing of the Charter of Positive Values at the taxi rank in the Blouberg Municipality.
23 July 2009: KwaZulu-Natal province
"Teenage Pregnancy Summit" to be hosted by the Office of the Premier which in the province is responsible for Moral Regeneration Movement.
25 July 2009: Western Cape province
"Dialogue on Drug and Substance Abuse" will be hosted by the Directorate on Social Dialogue and Human Rights in the Department of the Premier and it will look at issues of responsible citizenship, 2010; opportunities for the youth, drugs and the impact thereof, the Local Drug Action campaign, values and choices, among other issues.
25 July 2009: Gauteng province
"Dialogue on The Youth - Values versus the Challenges they face in Gauteng" will be hosted by the Gauteng Department of Education together with the National Office of the Moral Regeneration Movement. The target group is Grades 9 and 10 learners from 15 districts (20 pupils and two educators per district) and the dialogue will be dealing specifically with values – MRM Positive Values and the Constitutional Values.
28-29 July 2009: Mpumalanga province
Mpumalanga blitzes taking moral regeneration to the people, through marches and motorcades and visits to heritage sites.
