Molemo “Jub Jub” Maroohanye and co-accused Themba Tshabalala filed an application to appeal the conviction and sentence handed down by Protea court Magistrate Brian Nemavhidi.
The duo was sentenced to 25 years effective imprisonment each for four counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, use of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs and racing on a public road on the 5 December 2012.
The National Prosecuting Authority will be opposing the application against the appeal for conviction and sentence which will be heard tomorrow, 12 June 2014.
