Mohono encourages matriculants to do their best

North West MEC for Human Settlements, Desbo Mohono, has wished all learners who are sitting for this year’s matric examinations the best as they approach one of the key milestones in their schooling careers.

I am confident that many of our learners will do well, despite some of the challenges we experienced during the course of the year. Their sheer hardwork will no doubt see them through”, said Mohono, who is a qualified and experienced teacher by profession.

Earlier this year, Mohono paid an unannounced visit to Zinniaville School on the first official day of school as part of the North West Provincial Legislature’s programme to assess the state of readiness of our schools. Giving words of encouragement to learners of the school, Mohono urged learners to start concentrating on their lessons from day one as this would assist them to produce good results at the end of the year. The MEC hopes that the majority of the learners have taken her message to heart.

“I wish those who shall have passed the best in their chosen careers and hope that they will contribute enormously towards the reconstruction and development of our country. To those who may not be that lucky, I urge them not to despair, but to try harder next time”, said Mohono.

Mohono also urged members of the community to play their part to help our schools and learners to do well. “I call upon all patriots to join government in a partnership to make all our schools succeed, and to help keep the doors of learning and culture wide open for all our children. All of us must become education cadres of a nation at work for a better life. Together, let us help make our schools centres of excellence”.
