President Jacob Zuma will be accompanied by a large Ministerial delegation on his monitoring site visit to the Eastern Cape, on 7 June, which was announced by Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Minister, Mr Collins Chabane yesterday morning.
The visit is aimed at providing a hands-on assessment of the state of education in the province and to support to the province which is facing difficulties in the education sector.
The Ministerial delegation is as follows:
- The lead Minister for the visit, Mr Collins Chabane, Minister for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Mr Nathi Mthethwa, Police as well as Acting Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs
- Ms Edna Molewa, Water and Environmental Affairs
- Ms Angie Motshekga, Basic Education
- Dr Blade Nzimande, Higher Education
- Ms Dipuo Peters, Energy
- Ms Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde, Public Works
- Mr Fikile Mbalula, Sport and Recreation
- Mr Sibusiso Ndebele, Transport
- Mr Tokyo Sexwale, Human Settlements
- Ms Dina Pule, Deputy Minister for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation
- Mr Enver Surty, Deputy Basic Education Minister
- Ms Bathabile Dlamini, Social Development.
The Ministers will each visit schools and report back to the President at the end of the visit.
