Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson sends condolences to Yolanda Botha family

It is with sincere sadness that the Minister of Energy, Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson received the news on the untimely death of Ms Yolanda Botha. It can be said that some are too young, gifted and diligent to die, but as the living we remain hopeful that the souls of those who pass on will reside in Gods care. The Minister joins the people of the Northern Cape and the country at large in passing sincere condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Ms Botha. The Minister had the pleasure of visiting Ms Botha’s family in Kimberley recently.

I convey the Minister’s heartfelt condolences to Ms Botha’s family, especially her mother who loved her daughter dearly, her friends, colleagues and comrades.

With her passing, ANC is in mourning, we salute a courageous and meticulous warrior and community activist who served her organisation with every fibre of her being.

On behalf of the Office of the Minister and the Department of Energy, we collectively bless the times the family had with her and the immeasurable support they gave to her during the time of her illness. May the family find comfort in knowing that those who worked close with her in the ANC and in government remember the depth of her love and immense contribution.

We mourn as we also confront our own sorrow.  May the heavens grant her soul peace and we all be glad she lived and served us well.

May her dear soul rest in peace.
