Minister Senzeni Zokwana engages with SAPA on Poultry Meat Regulations amendments

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr. Senzeni Zokwana met with a delegation of the South African Poultry Association (SAPA) to engage on the amendments to the Poultry Meat Regulations regarding Control over the Sale on Friday, 23 October 2015.

The engagement follows a request from SAPA to meet with the Minister to clarify certain points about the Poultry Meat Regulation Amendment. The Minister instructed the technical teams of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) and SAPA to, within the next two weeks, meet and discuss issues and concerns raised by SAPA. Subsequent to the meeting between DAFF and SAPA the Poultry Meat Regulation Amendment will be published.

The Minister is intent on finalising the regulations as a matter of urgency.
