DAFF Minister, Senzeni Zokwana engaged with community of Exolobeni, Eastern Cape
Honourable Mr Senzeni Zokwana, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries had a successful Imbizo with people of eXolobeni today, 2 May 2019. This community imbizo was a consequence of the Minister Senzeni Zokwana's previous visit, a week ago where he met various community development committees.
The community expressed their willingness to be assisted on small-scale fishing as they are a fishing community as well as assistance on commercializing their agricultural activities in the form of Small Scale Farming. The community has an interest in ecotourism.
The Minister announced that the Department will pilot the macadamia nuts plantations for commercial activities. Expanded activities and government support in growing small scale fisheries. Minister has already issued fishing rights to the fishing cooperatives. A comprehensive agricultural plan for the Amadiba community will be developed.
