The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, has today, 22 April 201,4 after considering a high risk assessment report conducted by Internal Audit within the Department of Military Veterans, decided to place the Director-General, Mr Tsepe Motumi and the Deputy Director-General Corporate Services General Lifeni Make on special leave. This is to allow for an investigation to be conducted on matters arising from the Internal Audit.
The Minister has directed the Secretary of Defence Dr Sam Gulube, to facilitate that the investigation be conducted with immediate effect and be concluded in the shortest possible time. The investigation is going to be conducted under the auspices of the Department of Defence.
