The Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr Malusi Gigaba in his capacity as shareholder representative of the Denel Group, wishes to express his sincere and profound condolences to the families and relatives of the three Denel employees killed in Somalia yesterday.
The three Denel employees includes two South African nationals (Morne Lotter 41, and Alan Simpson, 53) and a Somali national, Isak Mohammed Osman, who were part of the Denel Mechem contingent of staff that worked on the United National Contract to provide camp management services and logistical support to the UN peace-keeping operations in Somalia.
Minister Gigaba is saddened by the incident that claimed the lives of the Denel employees particularly the South African nationals. Minister wishes to assure the South African public that Denel as a company will provide support to the families of the deceased during their time of mourning.
