Statement on the Rheinmetall Denel Munition factory tragedy
The Minister of Public Enterprises, Pravin Gordhan, wishes to express his profound sadness and sincere condolences to family members of the employees that suffered fatal injuries during a reported explosion at the Rheinmetall Denel Munition factory in Cape Town yesterday.
Minister Gordhan, who is still on a state visit in China, wants to assure the public and the bereaved families that the DPE and Denel SOC will provide all the necessary trauma counselling and other social support during this difficult time.
The cause of the accident will also be thoroughly investigated.
