The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, will on Monday, 28 February 2011, officiate a ceremony to handover bursaries to top performing matriculants of the class of 2010 from Mopani District, Limpopo Province.
On Nelson Mandela Day last year, in honour of President Mandela, the minister launched the career guidance campaign, with a career guidance festival in Giyani, where he and other prominent South Africans dedicated 67 minutes of their time doing career counseling to learners.
As part of motivating the learners to excel, the Minister announced at the event that the top 67 learners to come from that area would receive full bursaries to further their studies at institutions of higher learning. This event will therefore serve to the fulfillment of that promise.
