The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma congratulates the South African Women’s team on making history by becoming the first South African women’s cricket team to qualify for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup final.
The Proteas have played outstanding cricket throughout the tournament, showcasing their skills and determination to reach this incredible achievement. The team has demonstrated exceptional teamwork and resilience as they represented South Africa with pride and passion.
“We are excited about the final that they will be playing against Australia today. Their journey to the final has been nothing short of remarkable, defeating some of the world’s best teams along the way. Their achievement bears testimony to the talent and potential of women’s participation in any sport in our country, and a source of inspiration to all women and girls who aspire to participate in sport at the highest level,” Minister Dlamini Zuma said.
The Minister further extends her congratulations to the coaches and support staff for their hard work and dedication in reaching this milestone.
