Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi welcomes referral of Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Bill to National Assembly

Mineral Resources Minister Advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi has welcomed the referral of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Bill back to the National Assembly for reconsideration.

The Bill was referred back by President Jacob Zuma yesterday, following careful consideration and submissions received.

“This will allow us to fully satisfy ourselves that the Act, when it is eventually passed, adequately responds to our broader socio-economic development need, while balancing these with our aims of remaining an investment-friendly destination” the Minister said. “We will continue to work with parliament and other stakeholders to ensure this is achieved”, Minister Ramatlhodi concluded.
