Minister Ndebele on death of German journalist in road crash

Pretoria: Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele has conveyed condolences to the family of German freelance journalist, Wolfgang Jost, who died as a result of a road crash on the way to Bloemfontein on 24 June 2009.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of German journalist, Wolfgang Jost, as a result of a road crash on the way to Bloemfontein on 24 June 2009. We want to offer our sincere condolences to his family, relatives and friends. We wish those injured a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all during these difficult moments," said the Minister.

FIFA announced earlier today Monday, 29 June 2009, that one of four German journalists injured in a car crash on their way to a Confederations Cup semi-final match has died. It was reported that freelance journalist Wolfgang Jost was in a car that went out of control on a road to Bloemfontein on 24 June 2009, when the four men were headed for the semi-final between the United States and Spain.
