Minister Ndebele on 13 killed in Tzaneen aircraft crash

Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele has conveyed condolences to the families of the 13 passengers who died after two aircraft crashed on Mamotswiri peak, near Tzaneen.

"We want to convey condolences to the families and relatives of the 13 passengers who died after two aircraft crashed near Tzaneen," said Minister Ndebele. "Our thoughts and prayers are with them all during these difficult moments. As government, we will continue to ensure that recreational aviation is safe in South Africa. We also want to extend our appreciation to all the teams and volunteers involved in the search and rescue operations."

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), an agency of the Department of Transport, is investigating the cause of the crash.
