The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor has expressed her heartfelt condolences on the passing of the Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Stellenbosch, Prof Russel Botman.
Minister Pandor said his passing is a sad loss for our nation and for higher education.
"He was an inspirational leader who worked tirelessly for transformation in education and in particular higher education. My prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues," Minister Pandor said.
