Minister Gigaba announces the CEO appointment for Broadband Infraco

It is with great pleasure that the Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr Malusi Gigaba announces the appointment of Ms Puleng Sejanamane as the Chief Executive Officer and an ex officio member of the Board of Broadband Infraco (Infraco).

The appointment of the CEO is one of the final building blocks being put into place to re-establish the leadership team at Infraco under the guidance of a re-vitalised and re-energised board, which was appointed last year and who the Minister commends for the diligent and enthusiastic manner in which they have performed their duties to date.

Infraco is a key player in Government’s quest to provide broadband access and connectivity to underdeveloped and under-serviced areas and a key driver to economic growth through increased broadband penetration.

It is only possible to utilise our State Owned Companies to drive investment, productivity and transformation in the DPE portfolio of SOC and their customers and suppliers, so as to unlock growth, drive industrialisation, create jobs and develop skills if they are strong and stable entities.

The Minister and the Department congratulates Ms Sejanamane on her appointment and she and the Board can rest assured that Infraco enjoys our full support as we continue to effect the necessary change to place the company in a position to fully execute its mandate and fulfil its obligations to drive economic growth, create jobs and grow skills to the betterment of all South Africans.

The Minister also thanks the Acting CEO, Mr Andrew Shaw, for stabilising Infraco during a difficult time.
