Road safety must be prioritised throughout the year
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has urged motorists to prioritize road safety all year long and not just during peak travel seasons.
It comes as 7 people sustained injuries after a truck ploughed into 17 vehicles on Doreen Road next to Ruimsig Centre, off Hendrik Potgieter in Roodepoort.
The truck also crashed into a building and lost its load of cement. The driver who alleges that his brakes failed, was arrested for reckless and negligent driving.
Minister Mbalula has cautioned road users to remain vigilant, adhere to the rules of the road and ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy.
