South Africans encouraged to rally behind Bafana Bafana
Sports and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula calls on South Africans to support and rally behind Bafana Bafana during their upcoming Orange CHAN 2014 games and Fly the Flag high.
“We are confident that fans will once again support our national team in their numbers. Let us stand by them by continuing to be ambassadors for our team and the country,” said Mbalula.
South Africa faces Mali today at the Cape Town Stadium. Kick-off is at 17h00.
Minister Mbalula said Bafana Bafana’s win against Mozambique boosted the team's confidence and that of the country. “We are confident they will make us proud as they face off Mali today”.
The public is encouraged to visit the match viewing centres and stadiums to watch the games and support various competing teams.
Through the transport agreement reached with PRASA, a total of 45 buses will be made available to transport football fans that are in possession of a valid match ticket on match days.
South Africans are also urged to wear their favourite sport shirts and show support of Bafana-Bafana.
