De Doorns: Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has today, Friday 20 November 2009, sent a senior Home Affairs delegation led by Deputy Director-General Jackie McKay to De Doorns in the Western Cape where a number of Zimbabweans were forced out of their homesteads earlier in the week.
Minister Dlamini Zuma has dispatched the delegation led by Jackie McKay as part of a broader government intervention in the area with a specific mandate to assess and assist those immigrants who lost their basic documentation during the protests this week.
In this regard, Jackie Mckay will report back to Minister Dlamini Zuma on the extent of needs of the Zimbabwean immigrants in the area with a view to ensuring replacements of lost documentation including further documentation of the immigrants in the area.
