The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) will, in preparation to publishing the Status of the Youth Report, be presenting “The South African Youth Context: The Young Generation” manuscript.
The aim of the manuscript is to provide perspective on the status of youth in South Africa including providing information on youth demographic profiles around education and skills development, economic participation, social cohesion and civic participation, health and wellbeing.
The NYDA is, in terms of the NYDA Act, required to present a Status of the Youth Report every three years to the President who in turn presents it to Parliament.
The manuscript was developed in conjunction with research institutions such as the Human Science Research Council (HSRC), Medical Research Council (MRC) and Statistics South Africa (StatsSA) and funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The event will also be used to also share the implementation plan of the draft national Integrated Youth Development Strategy.
Minister in The Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Collins Chabane will deliver a keynote address at the event attended by National Government Departments, Public Entities, Private and Civic Organisations.
