Minister Carlisle officially opens R82 million Saldanha-to-Langebaan road

Robin Carlisle, the Minister of Transport and Public Works will on Tuesday morning officially open the R82 million road between Saldanha Bay and Langebaan, the upgraded MR 559. 

The contract commencement date was 28 March 2011 and the work has taken 13 months to complete. A section of the road was resealed, while a second section was upgraded to a single carriageway. 

Minister Carlisle will cut a ribbon at the roadside (address below), after which the gathering will move to the Long Acres Country Estate in Langebaan (address below) for the commencement of the rest of the programme, which will include a speech by the Minister. Celebrations will end at 12 noon.
