Minister for the Public Service and Administration Richard Baloyi and representative of government as sole shareholder at the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) has today appointed an Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to the agency.
The ministry has embarked on the recruitment for the post of CEO for SITA with the position widely advertised in the media and is currently managing the finalisation of the appointment processes.
Minister Baloyi pointed out that the current situation within SITA had dictated that the appointment processes could not be awaited to run their cause. Speaking on the rationale for appointing an Acting CEO while the process of recruiting a permanent CEO was underway, Minister Baloyi added “The centre of the three senior officials assigned to lead the Agency no longer holds and we had to act urgently, in the interest of the Agency, the shareholder and the public.”
Ms Nontobeko Ntsinde currently serving as board member to the newly constituted SITA board has been appointed acting CEO with effect from 1 July 2010 for a period of one year, or until the recruitment processes are concluded.
With sound experience as an attorney, more than 15 years’ experience in investment banking and finance, extensive operational experience in private and public sector, Ms Ntsinde is well-placed to lead the agency during this transformation. Accordingly, Ms Ntsinde holds a B. Proc degree, Master of Business Administration and received training in treasury and risk management, fundamentals of project management, corporate governance and boards, corporate finance as well as negotiating international agreements.
