The Department of Defence confirms that there was a military police operation at the Doornkop Military Base south of Johannesburg to arrest individual of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members who had been charged by the South African Army for various offences.
The operation commenced last night and continued this morning without any incidents of violence. The charges and arrests are not in any way linked to the recent illegal protest march at the Union Buildings.
