It is with great sadness that the Premier of the Free State, Mr Ace Magashule learnt of the untimely death of Mr Siphiwe Mboyane. He was a dedicated journalist who served with due diligence in various key positions within the media fraternity. Significant amongst the roles Siphiwe played were in City Press, Business Day and a long stint as the Editor of the Provincial Newspaper, The Weekly.
“The untimely death of Siphiwe has shocked us. We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a talented opinion maker whose ideas we were looking up to as we enter the Second Phase of our Freedom and Democracy. Our country needs great and diligent minds that will help to accelerate the pace of emancipation of our people” said Premier Magashule.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and all those who were touched by his dedicated contribution to the growth of our democracy.
May his soul rest in peace!
