Message of condolences on the passing on of MEC for Public Works, Mr Pandelani Ramagoma

We have learnt with a deep sense of sadness and shock about the untimely departure of the MEC for Public Works, Mr Pandelani Ramagoma. On behalf of the people of Limpopo, the provincial government and my own behalf I extend sincere words of condolences to the Ramagoma family, the entire liberation movement and friends alike.

As the leader of the African National Congress (ANC), South African Communist Party (SACP) and the entire mass democratic movement he has distinguished himself as a true selfless person. As a freedom fighter he was unwavering in principle and undeterred in his commitment to the course of liberating the people of South Africa particularly the poor from the bondage of the apartheid oppression. He has indeed left a huge void too difficult to fill.

We will miss him for the role he has played as a leader of young people, the workers and the people of South Africa at large. As an MEC for Public Works he had began putting in place workable and coherent plans that would see the economy of the province taken to a higher trajectory. He passes on at the time when we were looking forward to his contribution and leadership in the Limpopo Provincial Government contributing no less that 29 000 jobs of the 500 000 national target said by President Jacob Zuma.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ramagoma Family during this time of bereavement.

May his soul rest in peace!
