President Jacob Zuma has today, Sunday 28 April 2013, received the Prime Minister of the Central African Republic, Mr Nicholas Tiangaye, in Pretoria.
The two leaders discussed the situation in CAR and the need to bring about stability in that country and the African continent.
On behalf of the people of CAR, Prime Minister Tiangaye expressed condolences to the people of South Africa and families of the 13 soldiers who lost their lives in Bangui, CAR.
President Zuma accepted the condolences.
President Zuma and Prime Minister Tiangaye agreed to strengthen relations between the two countries and on the importance of the attainment of peace and stability in the continent.
The meeting was held ahead of the forthcoming Contact Group Meeting on Central African Republic to be held in Congo Brazzaville on 3 May 2013.
