The Executive Council (EXCO) of the Limpopo provincial government held a special meeting yesterday on 5 April 2011. The meeting discussed and adopted, among others, the Operation Paseka Plan which was tabled by the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster.
The Operation Paseka Plan will assist in the coordination of various state institutions to deal with any eventuality during the Easter holidays in April and extend to the period of the local government election in May 2011.
The plan is designed to coordinate government services in order to make the necessary impact in areas that include, among others:
- Road safety
- Provision of emergency medical services
- Disaster management services
- Crime prevention
- Access control at the ports of entry such as Beit Bridge and Groblersburg border post.
The Limpopo provincial government will roll-out various activities throughout the province to ensure that the Operation Paseka Plan is implemented efficiently and effectively.
The following appointment was approved:
1. Mr Madidimalo Chris Chamaano was appointed as the Head of Department of the Department of Public Works. The appointment will be for a period of five years calculated from the date of assumption of duty.
