I welcome the swift action by the South African Police Services’ (SAPS) Directorate for Priority Crimes, the Hawks, with the arrest of five suspects in connection with the recent murder of Sergeant Theophilus Xolisa MLindwa.
These arrests, which follow less than a week since the heinous crime were committed, are a confirmation of the SAPS’ capability and sends a strong message to the alleged cop killers, those still at large and criminals in general: crime will not go unpunished.
I trust that the arrests already made will be followed through with successful convictions.
I urge the different communities where these crimes have been committed to share information with the authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to task.
