The Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has convened a National Nursing Summit scheduled to start on 5 to 7 April 2011. The summit, to be addressed by President Jacob Zuma and attended by over 2 000 delegates will seek to produce a nursing compact and road map towards restoring pride, service and dignity in the profession.
The attention of the media is drawn to the following arrangements as they apply to journalists covering the summit:
Registration: Journalists wishing to register on Monday, 4 April are free to do so between 14h00-18h00. Registration will still take place on Tuesday, 5 April. You are kindly requested to present your media card upon registration. Registration will take place on level four - Committee foyer.
Arrival: Media are advised to be in the Pavillion before 08h45 as movement may be limited and restricted once the President has arrived.
Opening: The summit will be opened by President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday at approximately 09h20. The Minister is scheduled to deliver his address "Setting the Scene" at 10h50.
Press Conference: The Press Conference to be addressed by health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi (after his speech) is scheduled for 12h15 in the Pavillion (fifth) Level.
Changes and additions to the programme will be communicated to the media as and when they occur.
