Provincial Minister Simmers detests malicious politicking on social media
I have been made aware of certain claims circulating on social media regarding contracts not being fulfilled by the Western Cape Government’s Department of Infrastructure.
At no point in time, during my tenure as the Executive Authority, has the department been partisan to these alleged practices such as a contractor walking off-site without delivering their required duties as stipulated in the contract.
In instances where a contractor has failed to perform their tasks per the Service Level Agreement, corrective measures are pursued according to the contract’s terms and conditions.
These allegations are nothing more than malicious politicking.
The Auditor-General has repeatedly confirmed this government’s record of delivery and good governance. The Western Cape Government prides itself in being a responsible and accountable government. We prioritise our citizens’ trust and transparent use of all public funds.
