MEC Sebegoe conveys condolences to three bereaved families in Taung

North West MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Paul Sebegoe is saddened by the tragic deaths of two five year old children Kutlo Morwe and Reotshepile Selaolo of Lekaleng village and that of a seventy two years old woman Montshonya Lettie Mogongwe of Khibitswana village who all drowned in the same canal used for farming in Taung.

MEC Sebegoe said that the manner in which these deaths occurred was really unfortunate and excruciating.

“We sympathise with their families during this difficult time of mourning and share their grief as this loss also devastates us. We only hope that the Morwe family, the Selaolo family and the Mogongwe family find the strength to carry on during this unbearable time”, he said.

MEC Sebegoe urges parents, guardians and members of to always be aware of the whereabouts of their children and their loved ones. “The province is currently experiencing rainfalls above normal and these rainfalls are bound to fill up our dams, canals and excavations in an abnormal manner, we urge communities to be careful when coming across such infrastructures during this season”, he said
