MEC Rodgers Monama call for exploitation of business opportunities emerging from major sports activities – Mamelodi Sundowns Vs Orlando Pirates
The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism is once again jubilant to host yet another major football game at Peter Mokaba Stadium. MEC Rodgers Monama has indicated that hosting of sporting events within the Province is regarded as part of a broader tourism strategy.
According to Monama, substantial amounts of monies are spent by guests or football lovers on accommodation facilities, leisure activities, small businesses and night-life activities. MEC Monama also calls on entrepreneurs interested in selling of various products at close proximity to the stadium to contact Polokwane Municipality for permit arrangements.
Profits made on such major football games are worth the R200 charged for a permit to erect a stall outside the stadium. The LEDET MEC further calls on evening entertainment facilities to exploit such gatherings by providing maximum pleasure and exhilarating night amusements designed in such a way that attracts our guests to remain addicted and constantly return to the Province. The City of Polokwane is ready to host the biggest soccer spectacular the country has ever seen, since Covid-19.
Limpopo is pleased to host both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns Football Clubs.
For permits to trade outside the stadium kindly contact Polokwane Municipality on 015 290 2044 or email NareM@polokwane.gov.za during office hours.
