MEC Nono Maloyi conveys sincere condolences to the bereaved families

MEC Nono Maloyi conveys his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased who died in a gruesome accident in the early hours of Tuesday on the R512, at Bokfontein in Brits area towards the Old Rustenburg road.

According to the police, three white women and white male biker burned inside the Polo sedan after a bike went inside the car and exploded.

MEC Maloyi appealed to all road users to assist the department by taking responsibility of their lives, adhere to road rules and always ensure that their vehicles are fit for the road.

He said officials will work 24/7 to make the main roads of the province safe to travel on. “We have introduced 24 hours shifts in a number of critical routes and we will also utilise our Weighbridges to establish traffic control centres.”

“We would like to save more live this season and we will not let innocent lives of law abiding citizens to be compromised by the negligence of unscrupulous drivers,” said Maloyi.

He called on motorists to adhere to speed limits and to refrain from drinking and driving as it has been proven to be the major causes of most fatalities on the country roads.
