MEC Rosho sends her heartfelt condolences to the Makwetu family
The North West MEC for Finance, Ms. Motlalepula Rosho has learnt with shock, the sudden passing of the outgoing Auditor-General, Mr. Thembekile Kimi Makwetu. In a recently released statement, the Auditor-General South Africa indicated that Mr. Makwetu passed, on the afternoon of November the 11th after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer two years ago. MEC Rosho would at this point like to send her heartfelt condolences to the Makwetu family in such a difficult time.
“I would like to extend my sincerest condolences, from the North West Provincial Treasury to the Makwetu family, and those who have worked closely with him.” MEC Rosho said. She further said Mr. Makwetu has left a legacy of integrity, accountability, and credible reporting on pressing matters in the country.
MEC Rosho would also like to take this time to appreciate Mr. Makwetu’s sterling job in the province, especially in highlighting important issues in different spheres of government to be noted and addressed to ensure adherence to the Public Finance Management Act and Municipal Finance Management Act, of which would later lead to sound financial management in different public service institutions, driving the deserved service delivery to South Africans.
