North West MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety and  Liaison, Ms Desbo Mohono commends women law enforcers for their effort to commemorate Women’s Month through intensified law enforcement operations.

The arrests around Ventersdorp bringing to 294 offenders brought to book by women law enforcers in the North West province since the beginning of August Women’s Month.

The zero tolerance women’s special operations in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District were conducted by women from the Provincial Road Traffic Management Unit in partnership with their counterpart in the South African Police Service, City of Tlokwe Public Safety Unit and City of Matlosana Local Municipality.

In stamping their authority, the combined team has issued 35 truck drivers with summonses for overloading and discontinued 11 taxis and over 200 other motorists for various other traffic violations and defective vehicles.

The special operations by women law enforcers are in support of National Rolling Enforcement Plan aimed at reducing lawlessness and accidents on public roads.
